Blog of the Week

I am impressed by how hard Tom has worked recently to update his blog and to keep it current. It is great to see the class motivated to be 'blogger of the week' which I think has helped keep them interesting for the kids-with many of the blogging about their learning happening from home!
Well done Tom.

Graham Percy-Imaginative Histories Visit.

The Senior Syndicate has been visiting Nelson Museum for an insight into the life and times of NZ illustrator Graham Percy.
We were all impressed by the variety of his artworks and a number of children enjoyed the playful nature of the artworks. His sense of humour is well evident in his artworks.
We were also lucky enough to watch part of his movie 'hugo the hippo'  which you can watch below.

Fictional recreations

The students have been hard at work changing a famous story into something else. Here is a short part of Josh's film where the characters of 'Fantastic Mr Fox' are reversed-the Farmers steal food from Mr Fox!
Others have chosen to film Goldilocks, scenes from The Hobbit, some x-mas fables and a few fantastic stop-go animations using lego and chalk.
I will upload these as they come to hand. Watch this space!

Student Blog of the Week-Mats

I really like Mat's blog-he has been posting from home and he has tried really hard to write using interesting vocabulary. It is cool how he shares his blog with people around the world. Well done Mats!

Garden Designs rolling in..

Room 5 have created some magic gardens using a variety of tools-some of them just look so cool-I really like this one Will created for his group using 'floorplaner' a google app he found. Check out more designs on the page link above.
